colour correctors for the face…

2017 March 7, Tuesday

Why was I drawing lines and hearts on these girls’ faces?

Colour correcting makeup items have been around for a lonnnng time and they appear in several colours like peach, yellow, blue, green and lavender.

Peach and yellow work great together to lighten the appearance of undereye dark circles, blue to lighten skin tone, green to reduce redness, lavender to help dull skin tones appear brighter, etc…

So this time round, I have worked with ETUDE HOUSE and DAILY VANITY to share some easy tips on how to use ETUDE HOUSE’s PLAY 101 STICK COLOUR CONTOUR DUOs and ANY CUSHION to create a luminous base to let you glow even more.

Go over here to have a look and hopefully you can pick up some tips or share with me if you have more tricks up your sleeves?

Cheers!

BOLD and simple…

2016 October 26, Wednesday

NUYOU magazine.

Try a very simple yet bold look this time.  No complicated applications needed.  Just a little more daring on the choice of colours and stand out from the crowd!

Base,
Keep it simple with a thin layer of URBAN DECAY’s Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector.

Eyes,
MAKE UP STORE Microshadow in Enigma all around upper and lower lids blending off towards the brows.

Cheeks,
Keep cheek colour soft and neutral with Dual Intensity Blush in Sexual Content from NARS.

Lips,
With NYX’s Ombre Lip Duo, fill in almost all of the inside of the lips with the lipstick side (lighter shade) and line the lips thickly from outer lip inwards (other end) and blending both shades to create an ombre effect.

23rd September 2016.

You can learn how to easily recreate this soft yet radiant look on yourselves.

Would you like to join us at this event with Etude House Singapore and The Official Teenage Magazine?

You don’t have to be a teenager to come… 😉

NUYOU magazine.  June 2016 issue.

Get a little experimental with your eyes to add a dash of punk element to your face whenever the inspiration comes on.

Eyes,
Laneige Two Tone Eye Bar #1 stick eye makeup.
Peachy tone alone upper lash line and shimmery tone above that.
You can also run the same shades along the lower lash line if you like.
Hour Glass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner in Obsidian Edge to rim the eyes a little thicker than usual and extending outwards but not upwards as I wasn’t trying to create the cat eye look.
As the model had a rather soft look and I didn’t want her to look too hard, I used Deja:vu’s Lasting Fine Eyeliner in Brown instead of using just black all over the eyes.

Cheeks,
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Tipsy was softly brushed on to the cheek bones.

Lips,
Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick in Chocolate Honey was used for it’s muted shade so as to give her lips a supple feel yet not looking sweet at the same time.
This lipstick smells so yummy you may just lick it all off.  LOL

Yellow eyeliner pencil along upper lash line (if more colour is desired)

Brush on a soft shade of pink over the apples of the cheeks.

Pink tinted lip gloss for that soft colour.
