Clinique Sun

“There is no harmless amount of sun exposure for the skin.  Even small daily amounts of UV exposure contribute to photo-aging, alterations in the immune system and skin cancer.  In fact, we now believe that about 80% of the skin changes we perceive as ‘aging’ are due to sun exposure.  This is why daily sun protection is crucial all year long, regardless of season.”

– Dr. David Orentreich, Clinique’s Guiding Dermatologist

Sun’s up!  Or should I say hardly ever down here in Singapore.  And Clinique has a new line of sun care products called Clinique Sun.

It is a line with SolarSmart™ Technology.  A unique blend of photo stable sunscreens that will help guard skin against UV assault.  Also, please note that UVA rays are apparently more harmful to the skin than UVB rays.  UVA rays age the skin while UVB rays burn it.  So please check that the sunscreen you are applying provides protection against both UVA and UVB rays.  The range also provides defense with 3:1 technology regulated by the European Commission and Cosmetic Industry.  This ratio is to ensure the products contain an appropriate amount of protection and comfort of using them.  And take note!  Apply sunscreen at least 15-20 minutes prior to sun exposure so that it will be working with your skin for better protection before being in the sun.  And sunscreen should be worn whether or not that is sunshine.  UV rays are present with or without Mr Sunny shining at us.  Even under the shade!

Also in the line-up is the Self Sun products.  A range of self-tanning products.  Great for people who want to have some colour but don’t want to be in direct sunlight.  Daily application will result in a gradual even “tan”.  Please remember to give some time allowance after applying before dressing to prevent colour transfer to your clothes.  And also wash your hands clean with soap after application.

Take your pick from the range that consists of creams and sprays for face, body and after sun care.
